Dark romance with a body count
🌻 August 2026 🌻
Hello lovelies!
I’ve been busy this summer! I’ve also been super sick. My neurologist increased a few of my meds, my rheumatologist put me on a longer, higher dose steroid taper, and I’m still flaring. Lupus is just a series of fires to be put out… and some of them are like those underground coal mine fires, burning forever. My dysautonomia’s like that, lately at least.
The horrors persist… but so do I. 😈
Even though things are pretty crazy between the pages here, I’m having the time of my life! The River Reapers MC series is growing in both readership and books on the shelves (cover reveal below). I’m back to doing signings (we just added a surprise August event). My TBR is exploding with delicious dark romance, and I’m connecting with awesome readers and authors in the community.
It’s so good to be back! I didn’t realize how badly I needed to reclaim this part of me. Even though writing and signings take a lot out of me physically and mentally, they fuel my soul. I feel more like me. And I feel like maybe, if I hang onto this dream and let it drive, it’ll take as good care of me as I take of it.
Arsonist’s Lullaby cover reveal
You’ve seen the Arsonist’s Lullaby cover, right? No?! Have I failed you?
You do realize this is Lucy and Stixx’s book, right?
This novella occurs during and after the events of A Fatal Prospect while also existing as its own contained story.
😍 Look at her!! 😍

She’s burnt out, and I’ll give her spark back if it kills her.
Because I’m flaring, I’ve pushed back the release date for Arsonist’s Lullaby into October. I’m focusing on taking the best care of me while making this the best book it can be (and it’s paying off, AL might be my favorite in the series so far).
Paperback preorder campaign announcement coming shortly!
Recap: Barnes & Noble | Cheshire, CT

I had so much fun at B&N Cheshire in July! Darlene, Alyssa, Ramona, Corey, and the rest of the staff were wonderful. Corey created signature drinks based on our books, which unlocked an author achievement for me. There are some really cute pics and a “Cheers!” video between all our Instagram pages. Reader Heather stopped in with her River Reapers set and an old friend (The Stairs Between Us) for me to sign. She told me she’s glad I’m still writing (I had to go cry some happy tears real quick). I made some new friends in J.L. Polanco, Kaye Kennedy, and Emelia Rose, and I can’t wait to hang with them at future events (hint, hint, read on)!

Recap: Mini CT BookishCon | Torrington, CT

Mini CT BookishCon might be mini in name but its debut was phenomenal! Organizer Melissa of Le Fleur & Fables Booktique and her team set a warm, happy vibe that took us all to book heaven. There was a line outside the doors before they opened, and the first few hours were nonstop busy. I’m so grateful for all the readers who came by my table, whether to meet my psycho bikers or take ’em home. I’m also really happy I got to see J.L. Polanco again, Yolanda Olson, and meet Ash of Velvet Vows dark romance book store.

I got to meet so many lovely people, including my longtime beta reader and encourager of my mischief, Katy! The day still feels like a dream, the absolute best kind.
I came across this event after my best friend Sandy of 22 years suddenly died. I hadn’t logged into Instagram in months, but that night something was urging me to. Top of my feed was a flyer for the event. It felt like a note from Sandy: “You are not giving up!!”
My girl was a mother and educator, and she chased her dreams until her very last breath. She never even got to hold her Master’s in Special Ed that she’d just completed. (My younger goddaughter walked the stage for her in May.) Nothing about losing her makes any sense, except that she believed in and loved all of us with all her heart. It was a reminder that I needed to get back to me, and hanging onto my dream would take me there. And it did.

My ride or die, Mike. We’ve seen each other’s darkest parts, through our darkest days, and dancing with him in the light makes it all worth it.

BOGO & Fill Your Kobo
Kobo put an awesome promo together for their Kobo Originals authors. All through August, buy one get one FREE! This promo stacks, too, so you can scoop up two of my series for half price.
I’ve had a lovely time writing this small town tattoo shop romance for Kobo Originals. Binge the Stagwood Falls: Love in Ink series before the final book in the trilogy releases.
Currently Reading: Haunting Adeline
Did you hear that indie dark romance author H.D. Carlton’s Haunting Adeline is being adapted into a movie? I’m so excited! All the haters accomplished was making her a bestseller again, because like many other readers, it sent the book to the top of my TBR. I wish I’d read this book sooner! While reading Haunting Adeline, I’ve encountered a couple of my triggers and I’m really proud to say that I read every word of those scenes and enjoyed them. It feels fucking incredible to reclaim these things. Dark romance does that!
I’m not a mental health professional, and this isn’t medical advice, nor am I suggesting that fiction is a replacement for trauma therapy. You and your providers make the best decision for your wellbeing. I’m just really proud of this dark horse genre that makes some people really mad, meanwhile is so beloved and championed by some of the most wonderful people.
Thank you so much for all your support. For a long time, I feared I’d never make it back to writing, publishing, being with readers and authors in bookish spaces—yet here I am. Thank you for being here with me.
Lots of exciting things coming. In the meantime, happy reading!
xoxo,
