BOGO (for real), cover reveal, & surprise signing!

Dark romance with a body count
🌻 August 2026 🌻

Hello lovelies!

I’ve been busy this summer! I’ve also been super sick. My neurologist increased a few of my meds, my rheumatologist put me on a longer, higher dose steroid taper, and I’m still flaring. Lupus is just a series of fires to be put out… and some of them are like those underground coal mine fires, burning forever. My dysautonomia’s like that, lately at least.

The horrors persist… but so do I. 😈

Even though things are pretty crazy between the pages here, I’m having the time of my life! The River Reapers MC series is growing in both readership and books on the shelves (cover reveal below). I’m back to doing signings (we just added a surprise August event). My TBR is exploding with delicious dark romance, and I’m connecting with awesome readers and authors in the community.

It’s so good to be back! I didn’t realize how badly I needed to reclaim this part of me. Even though writing and signings take a lot out of me physically and mentally, they fuel my soul. I feel more like me. And I feel like maybe, if I hang onto this dream and let it drive, it’ll take as good care of me as I take of it.

Arsonist’s Lullaby cover reveal

You’ve seen the Arsonist’s Lullaby cover, right? No?! Have I failed you?

You do realize this is Lucy and Stixx’s book, right?

This novella occurs during and after the events of A Fatal Prospect while also existing as its own contained story.

😍 Look at her!! 😍

She’s burnt out, and I’ll give her spark back if it kills her.

Because I’m flaring, I’ve pushed back the release date for Arsonist’s Lullaby into October. I’m focusing on taking the best care of me while making this the best book it can be (and it’s paying off, AL might be my favorite in the series so far).

Paperback preorder campaign announcement coming shortly!

Recap: Barnes & Noble | Cheshire, CT

I had so much fun at B&N Cheshire in July! Darlene, Alyssa, Ramona, Corey, and the rest of the staff were wonderful. Corey created signature drinks based on our books, which unlocked an author achievement for me. There are some really cute pics and a “Cheers!” video between all our Instagram pages. Reader Heather stopped in with her River Reapers set and an old friend (The Stairs Between Us) for me to sign. She told me she’s glad I’m still writing (I had to go cry some happy tears real quick). I made some new friends in J.L. Polanco, Kaye Kennedy, and Emelia Rose, and I can’t wait to hang with them at future events (hint, hint, read on)!

Recap: Mini CT BookishCon | Torrington, CT

Mini CT BookishCon might be mini in name but its debut was phenomenal! Organizer Melissa of Le Fleur & Fables Booktique and her team set a warm, happy vibe that took us all to book heaven. There was a line outside the doors before they opened, and the first few hours were nonstop busy. I’m so grateful for all the readers who came by my table, whether to meet my psycho bikers or take ’em home. I’m also really happy I got to see J.L. Polanco again, Yolanda Olson, and meet Ash of Velvet Vows dark romance book store.

I got to meet so many lovely people, including my longtime beta reader and encourager of my mischief, Katy! The day still feels like a dream, the absolute best kind.

I came across this event after my best friend Sandy of 22 years suddenly died. I hadn’t logged into Instagram in months, but that night something was urging me to. Top of my feed was a flyer for the event. It felt like a note from Sandy: “You are not giving up!!”

My girl was a mother and educator, and she chased her dreams until her very last breath. She never even got to hold her Master’s in Special Ed that she’d just completed. (My younger goddaughter walked the stage for her in May.) Nothing about losing her makes any sense, except that she believed in and loved all of us with all her heart. It was a reminder that I needed to get back to me, and hanging onto my dream would take me there. And it did.

My ride or die, Mike. We’ve seen each other’s darkest parts, through our darkest days, and dancing with him in the light makes it all worth it.

Next: Book Swap Social | Wallingford, CT

If you missed me, no worries! Dee’s Blind Book Dates invited me to sign with Kaye Kennedy at the 2nd Book Swap Social, Book Signing, & DIY Tote Bag Workshop. That’s right: the biker daddies and the firefighter daddies are coming to Wallingford!

BOGO & Fill Your Kobo

Kobo put an awesome promo together for their Kobo Originals authors. All through August, buy one get one FREE! This promo stacks, too, so you can scoop up two of my series for half price.

A one night stand shifts into a wild ride…

He ruined her life, so now she’ll end his.

He started a war. She’ll finish it.

She sent him to prison and ran. Now he’s out, and he’s coming for her.

She’s burnt out, and I’ll get her spark back if it kills her.

I’ve had a lovely time writing this small town tattoo shop romance for Kobo Originals. Binge the Stagwood Falls: Love in Ink series before the final book in the trilogy releases.

She covers bad tattoos, but she can’t coverup her attraction to the man out to steal her shop.

The only thing more permanent than a tattoo is a broken heart.

Currently Reading: Haunting Adeline

Did you hear that indie dark romance author H.D. Carlton’s Haunting Adeline is being adapted into a movie? I’m so excited! All the haters accomplished was making her a bestseller again, because like many other readers, it sent the book to the top of my TBR. I wish I’d read this book sooner! While reading Haunting Adeline, I’ve encountered a couple of my triggers and I’m really proud to say that I read every word of those scenes and enjoyed them. It feels fucking incredible to reclaim these things. Dark romance does that!

I’m not a mental health professional, and this isn’t medical advice, nor am I suggesting that fiction is a replacement for trauma therapy. You and your providers make the best decision for your wellbeing. I’m just really proud of this dark horse genre that makes some people really mad, meanwhile is so beloved and championed by some of the most wonderful people.

Thank you so much for all your support. For a long time, I feared I’d never make it back to writing, publishing, being with readers and authors in bookish spaces—yet here I am. Thank you for being here with me.

Lots of exciting things coming. In the meantime, happy reading!

xoxo,

Arsonist’s Lullaby cover reveal

Your exclusive first look at the cover of the next dark romance in the River Reapers MC series by Elizabeth Barone.

She’s burnt out. I’ll give her spark back if it kills her.

Lucy doesn’t know I exist yet, but I’m what she needs to get her fire back. When her ex creeps too close, I cremate him so we can meet. When she tells me she’s pregnant and it’s his, I promise I’m hers. When she asks me to take control, I command her body the way I do fire.

I put back all her missing pieces one by one, and in her I find the family I lost long ago. I build her a garden in the ashes of our lives and, for the first time, I dare to believe life can be beautiful.

I know better.

They call me Stixx because I play with matches. When I find who took my forever, there won’t be anything to recover. Only love can save this blackened soul.

Arsonist’s Lullaby is a dark romance. Please check triggers before reading.

This novella is an interconnected standalone and takes place at the same time as A Fatal Prospect in the River Reapers MC series.

Cover by Natasha Snow

After working on this book for five years, through many personal and medical obstacles, I’m so proud and excited to finally share Stixx and Lucy’s cover with you!

A TOUCH OF GOLD Cover Reveal

I’m so excited to show you the cover for A Touch of Gold! A few months ago, I signed a four-book deal with Kobo Originals. The team at Kobo is passionate about books, and working with them has been a dream come true. I know that’s cliche, but truly—it’s been everything I hoped it’d be, and more. I’m now able to focus more on writing (and healing, but that’s another blog post), and I already see so much growth in my craft!

I’m the type of writer who is never short on ideas, just energy, so having the team at Kobo handle all the details while I do my thing… utterly glorious. They cooked up this cover with Ukrainian designers MIBLART, incorporating flowers with illustration, and using the colors from Goldie’s tattoo shop in the book! I love the way the gold lettering pops against the rich purples and greens. Check it out!

A Touch of Gold
Stagwood Falls: Love In Ink Series, Book 1

Everything Goldie touches turns to gold, so when the building that’s been in her family for generations is in trouble, her family calls on her to help save it. Moving back to her hometown and back in with her family comes with definite perks—like no more rent—and emotional baggage in the form of Goldie’s high school crush turned hottie David. When she sees him again, all those old feelings come rushing back—and are quickly dampened when she finds out he wants to tear down her building to build a “better” Main Street.

For as long as David can remember, Stagwood Falls has been a small-town summer vacation hotspot. It’s the kind of town that will charm the socks off of anyone who decides to drive through no matter the season, and it’s his job to make sure Stagwood Falls stands out on the map all year around. All he needs to do is convince the townspeople to get on board, even if it means making some sacrifices. When Goldie returns to Stagwood Falls, David is immediately drawn to her just as he was back in high school. This time around, he’ll do whatever it takes to get her attention. What David doesn’t expect is for Goldie to be so opposed to his new revitalization strategy that she’s hellbent on throwing a massive wrench in his plan.

A FATAL PROSPECT Cover Reveal

It’s finally A Fatal Prospect cover reveal day!

I wanted this cover to have an “us against the world, we’re going to war” feel, since everything is about to be turned upside down for Cliff and Olivia. I’ve been working with cover designer Natasha Snow for a few years now, and one of my favorite things about working with her is how I can give her a general idea and she runs with it.

See what I mean? 😍😍😍

Our enemies of past and present are uniting to put us in our graves. Not even death would destroy our love, but death isn’t the only thing that’s fatal…

Cliff

I’ve finally got Olivia, but she can’t give me the two things I want most: three words so I know I’m not in this alone, and a family so I can redeem all the horrible things I’ve done. My past is still chasing me, and the only way I can let it go is if I stop running and face it. I can’t allow the monster in my blood to take over, but it’s rising to the surface and I can’t fight it much longer.

Olivia

After all I’ve been through, I’m never giving away my heart, even if my heart has other plans. War strikes before Cliff and I get a chance to figure it out. When a teen football player is unspeakably violated, only my club can avenge him. A rival motorcycle club from the past is also looking for revenge, just as I realize my true feelings for Cliff.

When someone betrays us, we’ll pay the ultimate price, in both blood and love…

A FATAL PROSPECT is the third book in the River Reapers MC series, a dark romance with a body count. Some content may be disturbing to some readers.

A RISKY PROSPECT Cover Reveal

When I sat down to write A Disturbing Prospect and then A Risky Prospect, I had no idea how much Olivia and Cliff’s story would resonate with readers. See, I wrote these books for me; there were some demons I wanted to slay, and writing has always been my therapy, my catharsis. I’ve long wanted to write a biker romance, and many of my favorite stories involve vigilantes: The Crow, Watchmen, Kick-Ass, The Punisher… Those dark stories about everyday people using what they’ve got to get justice have always spoken to me.

In A Disturbing Prospect, I wrote for justice for someone else, for the Lucys in my life. In A Risky Prospect, I wrote for justice for myself.

I am a sexual assault survivor. Two different “boyfriends”—I hate to call them that, because they didn’t treat me like boyfriends should—hurt me, and it almost killed me. I spent the last few years unpacking all of the damage, struggling through PTSD and flashbacks, clawing my way through to the other side. Part of that involved writing my story. I took those two boyfriends, merged them into one character, and let the words flow.

I knew when writing A Disturbing Prospect (Book 1) that Olivia had some trauma to unpack in A Risky Prospect (Book 2). I wanted her arc to shine, so I brought in designer Natasha Snow, and suggested we feature Olivia on the cover.

I never imagined just how badass this cover turned out.

Brash social worker Olivia has been through her own personal hell and come out the other side, tattered but determined to make things better in her corrupt town—no matter the cost. Her roommate’s current situation is the perfect place to start.

When ex-con Cliff’s wild ol’ lady Olivia comes to him and the River Reapers for help, he’s on board. His vigilante motorcycle club can get the job done, and it’ll help convince Olivia to take the next step in their relationship.

But when Olivia’s traumatic past walks through the club’s doors, there’s no stopping her from doing whatever it takes to settle her own score. Even if it means crossing a line that Cliff might not be able to pull her back from.
